Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently visited France, Sweden, the UK, and Germany to promote AI development. During his tour, he urged European leaders to accelerate their local AI industries rather than focusing primarily on strict regulation.
In a discussion with German politician Friedrich Merz, Huang emphasized that while safety is a priority, excessive regulation could stifle the industry. He suggested that policymakers should regulate AI applications rather than the underlying technology itself.
Huang highlighted that Germany possesses significant advantages in manufacturing and engineering. He argued that integrating AI into these sectors could help the country overcome its current economic downturn and improve its global competitiveness.
During his visit to the UK, Huang addressed the local approach to innovation. He noted that despite having talented people and a vibrant society, the nation often overcomplicates processes and finds reasons not to pursue success.
