SK Hynix has officially abandoned its plans for an initial public offering of its subsidiary Solidigm in the United States. The company cited increased volatility in financial markets and a broad correction within the semiconductor sector as the primary reasons for this strategic shift.

Despite the cancellation of the IPO, SK Hynix emphasized that this decision does not reflect any changes in Solidigm's growth prospects or its ongoing investment requirements. The parent company intends to continue exploring alternative methods to fund the subsidiary's expansion and enhance shareholder value.

Future plans for Solidigm will involve a careful assessment of investment timing, scale, and various financing structures. SK Hynix noted that both the parent company and its subsidiary currently maintain strong operational performance, yet the current market environment necessitated a review of the listing process.

Solidigm was established in 2021 following SK Hynix's acquisition of Intel's NAND flash and storage business. Headquartered in Rancho Cordova, California, the company operates across 13 global locations, including facilities in China, Canada, and Mexico, and employs over 2,000 people.
