Nvidia senior vice president Jeff Fisher officially denied rumors regarding the discontinuation of the RTX 5090 graphics card. During an event in Taipei, he confirmed that the product remains a core part of the company's portfolio and will continue to be supplied to the market.
Despite the denial, Fisher acknowledged that Nvidia is currently facing supply chain constraints. The company is actively working to address these production limitations to ensure product availability for consumers.
Speculation about the discontinuation arose after reports that retailer Micro Center marked the card as not carried. Additionally, rumors from industry sources suggested that Nvidia might reallocate GB202 chips from the RTX 50 series to professional-grade cards.
Fisher emphasized the strategic importance of the gaming division for Nvidia. He noted that the GeForce brand was instrumental in the development of CUDA, which serves as the foundation for the company's current success in the AI market.
