The Aster OS smart cockpit system developed by Nio's Firefly brand received the 2026 Red Dot Award in the Interface and User Experience Design category. The ceremony took place on November 6 at the Konzerthaus Berlin in Germany. The system features a context-aware home screen and multisensory feedback, including haptic and visual cues designed to minimize driver distraction.

Alongside the award, Firefly released the Aster OS 2.1.5 software update, which enables support for the 60-kWh long-range battery pack. This battery, launched on October 23, provides a CLTC range of 560 kilometers, representing a 33% increase over the 42-kWh version. The brand continues to support rapid battery swapping for its vehicle lineup.

Firefly entered the premium compact electric vehicle market in April 2025. To maintain market presence, the brand has released special editions, including the Halo series and the limited 666-unit Club Spiaggia. These strategies have contributed to consistent sales growth for the company.

In October, Firefly delivered 7,738 vehicles, marking a 30.9% year-on-year increase and a monthly record for the second consecutive month. Total deliveries for the first 10 months of 2026 reached 55,860 units, which accounts for 16.7% of Nio Inc's total volume. Cumulative deliveries for the brand stood at 95,274 vehicles as of the end of October.
