Navitas Semiconductor is partnering with Nvidia to develop power solutions for 800 VDC architectures in AI data centers. The collaboration, announced on May 21, 2025, utilizes Navitas' GaNFast gallium nitride and GeneSiC silicon carbide technologies to support power delivery exceeding 1 MW.
The core product is an 800 V-to-6 V DC-DC conversion board that eliminates intermediate stages required by traditional 48 V and 50 V systems. The design features 16 GaNFast FETs rated at 650 V and aims for a peak efficiency of 96.5% to 97.5% at 1 MHz switching frequencies.
This hardware is designed for Nvidia's MGX ecosystem, including Kyber racks and Rubin Ultra GPUs. The board is roughly 20% thinner than a smartphone, and the 800 V approach allows for 45% thinner wiring and a 45% reduction in copper requirements.
Navitas showcased the board at COMPUTEX 2026, held from June 2 to June 5. On October 5, 2026, the company partnered with Microchip to release a joint reference design for hardware manufacturers. Following these announcements, Navitas shares saw intraday gains of up to 20%.
