MTS has deployed Russian-made Irteya base stations in the city of Shchigry, Kursk Region. This infrastructure upgrade has improved voice communication quality and boosted mobile internet speeds by over 25 percent for the local population.

The new LTE network serves 14,000 residents, covering residential areas along Lazarev, Kurskaya, Novaya Kurskaya, and Makarova streets. The coverage also extends to local industrial and agricultural enterprises, retail outlets, and social institutions, including schools and medical clinics.

The company expects the updated infrastructure to support the adoption of digital business solutions, such as IoT, cloud technologies, and video analytics. This initiative follows the initial deployment of Irteya equipment in the Pristensky district of the Kursk Region earlier in 2026.

The earlier project in the southeastern part of the region provided mobile services and high-speed internet access to approximately 2,000 residents. MTS continues to integrate domestic hardware into its regional network to enhance service reliability for both individual and corporate users.
