MegaFon has upgraded its mobile network infrastructure in the town of Zhatay, installing additional base stations across various districts. The expansion covers both the town center and developing residential areas, including Satala and Saydam, as well as the new Tochka Budushchego educational complex.

The network improvements have increased mobile internet speeds to 100 Mbps. According to the company, these upgrades were implemented to manage rising network demand, which typically peaks during the autumn season. The project also included the deployment of VoLTE technology for clearer voice calls and simultaneous data usage.

Data from MegaFon indicates a significant rise in local network activity. In 2026, mobile data consumption in Zhatay grew by 21% compared to 2025, while the total volume of voice calls increased by 36%. Natalia Nekrasova, director of MegaFon in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), noted that these measures ensure stable connectivity during periods of high traffic.
