MTS has deployed an indoor LTE network within the new terminal of the Novokuznetsk International Airport, named after Boris Volynov. The infrastructure provides voice services and high-speed mobile internet throughout the entire complex, including check-in areas, baggage claim, security checkpoints, waiting halls, and technical rooms.

The new terminal, which opened in February 2025, covers an area of nearly 20,000 square meters. It is five times larger than the previous facility and features three jet bridges, six escalators, and 15 elevators. The terminal is designed to handle a passenger capacity of up to one million people annually.

Previously, mobile connectivity in the terminal relied on external base stations, which faced signal attenuation due to the building's metal construction. MTS engineers utilized indoor coverage technology to install equipment directly inside the facility to ensure stable connectivity for passengers and staff.

The airport serves over 500,000 passengers annually, offering direct flights to various Russian cities and international destinations like Vietnam and Thailand. It acts as a key transit point for tourists traveling to the Sheregesh ski resort, as well as for residents of the southern Kuzbass agglomeration.
