MTS has launched a 5G network in Chita, marking the first deployment of this standard in the Zabaykalsky Krai regional center. The operator utilizes existing LTE 2100 MHz frequencies to provide coverage in several city locations, applying the principle of technological neutrality to share resources between 4G and 5G networks.

The new network is currently active in the city center, residential districts, and near major transport routes. Key coverage areas include the ODORA park, the SibVO stadium, the intersection of Shilova and General Belik streets, the main building of Zabaikalsky State University, the central art school on Babushkina Street, the Arbat shopping center, and the sports stadium of the railway transport institute.

According to Denis Boyko, director of MTS in Zabaykalsky Krai, the deployment aims to support high-speed data transmission, lower latency, and increased network capacity. These improvements are intended to facilitate the development of IoT systems, cloud services, VR/AR tools, and smart city solutions for local businesses and residents.
