According to NF Group, 67% of commercial data center capacities scheduled for launch in the Moscow region in 2026 have been delayed. Consequently, only about 33% of the originally planned volume is expected to be commissioned this year.
The 2027 pipeline includes over 160 MW of new capacity, with approximately 80% of this figure consisting of projects postponed from 2026. For 2028, more than 260 MW are currently being marketed.
The market faces a supply deficit, with unmet demand estimated at 200–300 MW. Annual capacity growth in the Moscow region slowed from 13–15% in 2023–2024 to 5–7% in 2025–2026.
Key constraints include limited access to power, a shortage of suitable sites and skilled personnel, high financing costs, and new regulatory requirements for construction and power reliability.
By the end of 2026, the total power capacity of Russian data centers is estimated at 1.9 GW, with 0.9 GW in the commercial segment and 1 GW in corporate facilities. Approximately 75% of these capacities are located in the Moscow region.
