Microsoft's AI agent platform, Foundry, has reached a milestone of over 120,000 customers. This represents an increase of 20,000 organizations since the platform surpassed the 100,000-customer mark in July 2026.
The platform's revenue has more than tripled year over year. A significant driver of this growth is the usage of open-source models on the platform, which saw revenue increase tenfold during the same period.
Customer activity on the platform shows diverse growth patterns. The number of users building agents with multiple AI models grew fivefold, while the count of customers processing at a run rate of one trillion tokens increased fourfold year over year.
Integration with other Microsoft services is also expanding. Currently, more than 17,000 customers utilize both Foundry and the data platform Microsoft Fabric, marking a 60% increase year over year.
A study by Forrester indicated that organizations using Foundry achieved a 327% return on investment over a three-year period, primarily due to gains in developer productivity.
