Meta has introduced Waddle World, a new mobile application featuring an AI-powered virtual pet. The app is currently available for download on iOS and Android platforms exclusively in the Philippines.
The application functions as a 16-bit virtual pet simulator where users can hatch, feed, and interact with a digital creature. Meta explicitly states that the product is not a chatbot, assistant, or productivity tool.
Waddle World includes a journaling feature that allows users to record their day via text or voice. The pet processes these inputs to create entries accompanied by doodles and provides weekly email summaries based on user interactions.
The app also incorporates mini-games and is restricted to users aged 18 and older. This release follows Meta's previous AI-focused experiments, such as the game-coding app Pocket and the video-generation tool Vibes.
