Mercedes-Benz is restructuring its electric vehicle portfolio for the 2027 model year. The company plans to discontinue the all-electric EQE sedan, including its AMG performance variant, as part of this transition.

The flagship Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV and the high-performance plug-in hybrid Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance will also be removed from the US lineup. Both of these models currently have starting prices exceeding $180 000.

The manufacturer is shifting focus toward new models built on its MMA platform, such as the recently launched CLA and GLB. These vehicles feature a design language closer to the brand's traditional combustion-engine cars.

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA EV is available in two configurations: the 250+ RWD and the 350 4MATIC AWD. Both models utilize an 85 kWh battery pack, with the RWD variant offering a range of up to 374 miles.

Pricing for the 2026 CLA 250+ starts at $47 250, while the CLA 350 4MATIC begins at $49 800. Additionally, the company expects the 2028 Mercedes GLA to reach dealerships in electric and hybrid versions in late 2027.
