Mercedes-Benz is preparing to replace the EQE model with a new electric E-Class sedan. Recent prototype sightings reveal a design shift toward a more traditional sedan aesthetic, moving away from the styling of its predecessor. The vehicle features star-shaped daytime running lights and is expected to include an illuminated front grille, similar to the current GLC and C-Class electric models.

The rear of the vehicle features production taillights with straight-line graphics, departing from the three-pointed star motifs seen on other models. The car is built on the MB.EA architecture, which supports an 800-volt electrical system. Charging speeds for the new sedan are expected to reach 330 kW, surpassing the 205 kW offered by the BMW i5 and the 270 kW of the Audi A6 e-tron.

While official specifications remain unconfirmed, the E-Class Electric may utilize a dual-motor setup similar to the C400 4Matic. This configuration could provide 482 horsepower and a zero-to-100 km/h acceleration time of slightly over 4 seconds. The vehicle is expected to use a 94 kWh gross battery, potentially offering a range that exceeds the 573 km provided by the BMW i5.

The interior of the new electric sedan is expected to follow the design language of existing Mercedes EVs. This includes a digital dashboard spanning the width of the vehicle in premium configurations. The company plans to offer an optional passenger screen, consistent with the features found in the manufacturer's current electric lineup.
