MegaFon has upgraded its telecommunications infrastructure at the Sheregesh ski resort to improve connectivity for tourists. By installing new equipment, the operator has increased data transmission speeds to 150 Mbps for its subscribers.
The new base station is located on the M11 highway, specifically on the Chugunash–Sheregesh section near the Panorama ski slope. This expansion aims to support high-quality video calls and heavy social media usage for visitors in the area.
Currently, MegaFon operates over 10 telecommunications sites in Sheregesh. The network utilizes a combination of low, medium, and high-frequency bands to ensure consistent coverage, including indoor environments.
The infrastructure development also includes an expanded range for VoLTE technology. This allows users to make high-definition voice calls while simultaneously using mobile data services without compromising connection quality.
