MegaFon has completed a network infrastructure upgrade across the Saratov region, improving mobile connectivity for 200,000 rural residents. The project covered over 100 settlements across 36 districts, enhancing data transmission speeds and network capacity.

The modernization efforts focused on both residential areas and major regional and federal highways, including the A-298, R-229, R-207, and R-228 routes. Additionally, connectivity was improved at key tourist sites, such as the Khvalynsky National Park and the historic village of Orlovskoye.

Engineers utilized frequency range expansion and refarming techniques, transitioning spectrum from 3G to the LTE standard. According to the company, these technical adjustments resulted in a 15–30% increase in 4G data speeds and capacity, depending on the specific location.

The initiative aims to align rural mobile service quality with urban standards. Currently, the average monthly data consumption for rural residents in the region is approximately 32 GB, a figure that continues to rise as users access government services, banking, and video platforms.
