MegaFon has deployed new telecommunications equipment in the Romantik gardening community near Kostomuksha. The infrastructure provides residents with stable voice services and 4G connectivity for the first time.
The network upgrade enables users to access digital services, including banking applications, government portals, and online streaming. Additionally, the coverage supports smart home systems such as automated irrigation and remote video monitoring.
The deployment includes support for VoLTE technology, which reduces call connection times and improves audio quality. The operator reports that since the launch, users have consumed 2.5 terabytes of data and spent 387 hours on voice calls.
This project is part of a broader infrastructure expansion in the Republic of Karelia. MegaFon previously upgraded coverage in residential and industrial areas of Kostomuksha, as well as in the settlements of Voknavolok and Kimasozero.
