Vitaly Shcherbakov, Director of the AI and Big Data Department at MegaFon, outlined a strategy for corporate artificial intelligence implementation. He suggests a hybrid approach where companies maintain centralized control over core infrastructure while allowing individual departments to develop local AI agents and specific use cases.
During the Digital Solutions forum, Shcherbakov emphasized that security standards, data handling protocols, and document management rules must be unified across the entire organization. He noted that the company should also centralize the infrastructure layer, which includes base models, computing resources, and data access tools.
According to the executive, centralizing these elements is a logical step for any organization. This approach avoids the inefficiency of duplicating expensive resources and processes across multiple business units, while still providing teams with the flexibility to innovate at the local level.
