Former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has introduced Dazzle, a personal AI assistant that derives context exclusively from a user's camera roll rather than text-based applications like email or calendars. The startup secured an $8 million seed round in December 2025.

The application functions by analyzing photos to identify user hobbies, interests, and preferences. It offers two primary features: executing immediate tasks, such as scheduling events from flyers or finding repair services, and providing personalized recommendations for vacations or gifts.

Mayer previously developed an AI-powered photo-sharing tool called Shine under her startup Sunshine in 2024, which was later discontinued. She stated that the development of Dazzle utilizes intellectual property gained from that project.

Regarding data security, Mayer claims that Dazzle prioritizes user privacy by discarding information flagged as sensitive. She suggests that users may prefer granting access to photo libraries over sharing sensitive content from emails or messaging apps.
