Magnus Tech has overhauled its game development workflow by replacing traditional technical documentation with AI-driven prototyping. The company previously relied on multi-day documentation cycles followed by weeks of manual programming, which often resulted in ineffective game mechanics.
By integrating the Claude AI model directly into the Unity engine via the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the team now builds rough prototypes using primitives in just a few hours. This shift allows developers to test game features almost immediately after conception.
According to Ivan Dvoryanov, producer of the gaming division at Magnus Tech, the new approach significantly reduces the time from idea to initial testing from weeks to hours. The AI agent is configured to analyze project folders, scripts, and the engine structure.
Despite the efficiency gains, the company emphasizes that this method requires rigorous planning. The team continues to perform certain tasks manually, noting that AI agents are not suitable for every stage of the development process.
