Lumio is a free macOS application that monitors AI agent activity directly from the MacBook notch. Version 1.3 adds support for OpenCode, Kilo Code, and Pi, joining existing integrations for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot.
The app standardizes disparate agent events into a unified format. For agents like OpenCode and Kilo, which do not support blocking hooks, Lumio uses a race-condition mechanism to manage user permissions. Kilo specifically requires an interactive flag for sensitive commands, which Lumio handles to ensure compatibility.
The development process now mandates live testing against real agent instances in a sandbox environment. This follows issues where minor version updates, such as those in Pi 0.73 versus 1.x, changed event structures, requiring the team to implement robust event listeners for different agent lifecycles.
Lumio includes power management features to prevent the Mac from idling while an agent is active. It uses the PreventUserIdleSystemSleep lock with specific rules based on battery levels and network status. The app also provides activity tracking, visualizing agent work sessions and task history.
Future updates in version 1.4 will include support for Qwen Code and Crush. The application is distributed via a terminal installation script, and the developers are currently researching methods to better track event changes across different agent versions.
