Jmix 3.1 introduces a new command-line interface, Jmix CLI, enabling project creation without an IDE. The release updates Spring Boot to version 4.1 and Vaadin to 25.3. Additionally, the Dynamic Model add-on has moved out of experimental status, now supporting full-text search, cluster configurations, and model history.
The update adds an AI Chat component for building interfaces with streaming responses and Markdown support. A new UI Recovery feature saves unscreened changes as drafts, allowing restoration after session timeouts or browser closures. Developers can now utilize read-only views for entities and implement popover panels for enhanced UI interactions.
Reporting capabilities have been expanded with streaming reports that process data directly from database cursors to handle large files. A new AI-generated JPQL dataset type allows for query creation via natural language. Other UI improvements include new slider, badge, and SVG components, alongside resizable side panels.
The Email Sending add-on now features a dedicated screen for configuring OAuth2 connections with Google and Microsoft services. The BPMN modeler has been updated to support escalation events and asynchronous execution attributes. Jmix Studio also received enhancements, including new screen creation wizards and improved entity designer actions.
The next feature release is scheduled for February 2027. Future development plans include an administration console for the Search add-on, localized entity attributes, and an AI-based builder for the Dynamic Model component.
