Berlin-based startup Limetax has secured €36 million in funding to develop an AI platform for tax advisers and acquire firms. The capital consists of €6 million in equity, led by Motive Partners with participation from Activant, Heliad, and angel investors, and a €30 million bank loan.
Founded in January 2026 by Christoph Gamon, Maximilian Meyer, and Christoph Dansard, the company employs about 150 people. Limetax operates four firms across seven locations and has reached annualised revenues in the tens of millions of euros within eight months of operation.
The platform integrates with DATEV software to automate bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting. According to the company, its tools have reduced the monthly processing time per client from 20 hours to 6 hours. Human oversight remains mandatory for all financial results.
The German tax accounting software market was valued at approximately $858 million in 2024 and is projected to reach $2 billion by 2035. Limetax competes with firms like sevDesk, Lexoffice, and ADDISON, though it differentiates itself by acquiring partner firms.
