Lexus has unveiled the 2027 model year GX for the US market, featuring minor equipment updates while maintaining its existing powertrain. The vehicle continues to use a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 engine producing 349 horsepower and 649 Nm of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a permanent all-wheel-drive system.
Standard equipment now includes the SmartAccess keyless entry system for all doors and the trunk. Higher trims, specifically Luxury, Luxury+, and Overtrail+, now offer ventilated second-row seats. Additionally, LED lighting has been added to the cargo area. Despite these additions, the long-awaited hybrid version remains unavailable, with no release date provided by the manufacturer.
Prices have increased across all six available configurations. The entry-level GX 550 Premium now starts at $69 085, including a $1 550 delivery fee. The Overtrail+ trim saw the most significant price hike, rising by $1 565 to a total of $85 010. Other models saw increases ranging from $600 to $800.
Lexus has not provided a specific reason for the price adjustments, though factors such as rising costs for raw materials like aluminum and memory chips are cited. Furthermore, the vehicles are manufactured at the Toyota Tahara plant in Japan and are subject to a 15 percent import tariff in the United States, which impacts the company's overall expenses.
