The 2028 Lexus LFA electric supercar has been spotted during road tests in Germany. Images shared on Instagram show the vehicle covered in camouflage, featuring a low-slung, elongated profile and an extended rear spoiler.

Unlike the original LFA, which featured a 4.8-liter V10 naturally aspirated engine, the new model is expected to be fully electric. It will share an aluminum chassis architecture with the Toyota GR GT and GR GT3 models.

The vehicle may become the first mass-produced model from the Toyota Group to utilize solid-state battery technology. This integration aims to improve energy density, reduce overall weight, and extend the driving range.

Lexus has not yet released official specifications regarding battery capacity, power output, range, or acceleration times. The company continues to keep these technical details under wraps as development progresses.

To maintain the mechanical feel of a combustion-engine supercar, the new LFA may use software to simulate engine sound, gear shifts, and even the torque interruption experienced during clutch engagement.
