Leela, a startup focused on automating compliance for regulated financial firms, has secured $4.6 million in a seed funding round. The investment was co-led by Array Ventures and Female Founders Fund, with participation from Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, The Council Capital, and Apprentis Ventures.
The company provides a platform that uses AI agents to execute compliance tasks rather than just tracking them. Its proprietary language, RegLang, maps regulatory requirements and internal policies to specific workflows, enabling agents to handle fraud reviews, anti-money laundering checks, and customer complaints.
Leela operates on a monthly fee model, allowing fintechs to purchase individual self-executing policies and scale their compliance programs as they grow. The platform is designed to integrate into existing system stacks while maintaining auditable records and human oversight for complex decisions.
The startup plans to focus on expanding the range of automated workflows and increasing its customer base over the next six months. CEO Preeti Krishnan stated that the company aims to become the default solution for growing financial businesses that need to manage complex regulatory obligations.
