LAZ Parking and EverCharge, a subsidiary of indiGOtech, have launched a joint venture to deploy electric vehicle charging infrastructure in apartment complexes and condominiums. The collaboration integrates LAZ’s extensive parking management network with EverCharge’s proprietary SmartPower technology.
LAZ currently manages approximately 2.1 million parking spaces across 5,700 locations in 639 cities throughout the United States and Canada. By leveraging these existing real estate relationships, the companies aim to streamline the installation and operation of charging stations for property owners.
The SmartPower system enables multiple charging ports to share existing electrical capacity, allowing for up to five times more chargers to operate on a single power supply compared to traditional setups. This approach minimizes the need for costly electrical infrastructure upgrades in residential buildings.
EverCharge already maintains 10,000 charging ports across more than 1,000 multifamily residential sites. The new partnership is set to expand the combined charging network to 25,000 ports across North America, with plans for further growth in the electric and autonomous vehicle sectors.
