The startup Klang, based in Helsingborg, has secured €1,32 million in a funding round. The investment was led by Johan Lenander, Emil Sjödin, and Daniel Gadd, with participation from existing shareholders. The company intends to use the capital to accelerate AI research, product development, and international expansion.

Klang plans to hire approximately 10 new employees to support its growth in research, development, and marketing. The company is currently prioritizing expansion into the Nordic countries, the Benelux region, the DACH region, and Japan. On August 12, 2026, the company officially launched its services in the Japanese market.

The company has released Pianissimo, an open-source speech-to-text model specifically trained for Swedish and its dialects. Built on the Nvidia Parakeet architecture, the model is designed to run locally on standard consumer hardware. According to internal tests, it performs with accuracy comparable to the KB Whisper Large model while operating 60 times faster.

Founded in 2023 by Niklas Silfverström, Viktor Silfverström, Andreas Argelius, Mattias Fält, and Jacob Andersson, Klang develops AI tools for transcribing, summarizing, and analyzing conversations. The company emphasizes that its technology is developed in Sweden and complies with European data protection standards.
