KineDB has secured €850 000 in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by Superhero Capital, with additional backing from NGL Ventures and several angel investors, including Jussi Pyörre from Cactos, as well as Kristoffer Abell and Jakob Lilholm from Formalize.

Founded by Axel Löwenhoff and Allan Zimmermann, the company is building a database engine designed to function across both cloud infrastructure and local devices. The technology aims to provide a unified system for data management, eliminating the need for separate tools for online and offline environments.

The startup intends to use the capital to accelerate product development and expand its team. Recruitment efforts are currently focused on hiring engineers with expertise in database architecture, storage systems, and query engines.

The platform is initially targeting sectors where consistent internet connectivity is limited. For instance, the system allows for data entry on mobile devices in remote locations, such as underground mines, with automatic synchronization occurring once a connection is re-established.
