The Jetta M6 EV, a budget brand under FAW-Volkswagen, has introduced a specialized fleet trim designed for taxi operators and rideshare platforms in China. This model is priced at ¥85 800, which is approximately $12 900. It is exclusively available for B2B sales and is not intended for individual retail customers.
The taxi-spec M6 is equipped with a 51.9 kWh LFP battery and a 145 kW front motor, providing a CLTC range of 555 km. To reduce costs, the vehicle features steel wheels with plastic hubcaps and lacks premium comfort options such as seat heating, ventilation, and power adjustments.
Jetta provides an extended warranty for the fleet version, covering up to 600 000 km over a period of 6 or 8 years. This is significantly higher than the standard consumer warranty, which is limited to 3 years or 100 000 km. The vehicle is currently offered only in white.
Although the fleet model is restricted to B2B, there are reports of surplus units being sold to private buyers through third-party platforms. The standard consumer version of the M6, launched on 22 October, starts at ¥79 800 and received over 10 000 orders within the first 19 hours.
