Volkswagen India has unveiled the updated Virtus sedan, which is scheduled for a market launch in December 2026. The vehicle features subtle exterior modifications, including a redesigned front bumper with new mesh intakes, smaller fog lights, and updated taillight graphics. The flagship GT trim now includes black alloy wheels and a new blue exterior color option.
The updated sedan is expected to retain its current powertrain options: a 1.5-liter TSI engine with 148 hp paired with a seven-speed DSG, and a 1.0-liter TSI engine with 113 hp available with a six-speed manual or a new eight-speed torque converter automatic. The interior is anticipated to mirror the Skoda Slavia, featuring a 10.1-inch infotainment display and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
Since its introduction in India in 2022, Volkswagen has sold nearly one Virtus unit every 24 minutes. The company plans to release full pricing and trim details closer to the official launch. The current model is priced between ₹1,070,900 and ₹1,919,900. While intended for emerging markets, the sedan is not planned for release in North America or Europe.
