JBM Electric Vehicles has launched its Ecolife e12 electric bus in Singapore, marking the company's entry into the local market. The vehicle was unveiled during the Singapore Urban Mobility Week, held from 4 to 6 November. JBM EV claims to be the first Indian manufacturer to introduce an electric bus in the country.

The Singapore-specific model features an all-aluminium monocoque body constructed by Gemilang Coachwork. The bus measures 12 metres in length, 2.6 metres in width, and 3.2 metres in height, with a 5.9-metre wheelbase. It is a low-floor design equipped with electronically controlled air suspension that includes a 60 mm kneeling function for easier passenger access.

The vehicle is powered by a 250 kW motor and a 525 kWh battery, which supports charging via two 300-ampere CCS2 ports. It offers a range of 320 kilometres on a single charge and reaches a top speed of 60 kph. The bus has a capacity of 84 passengers, including 28 seated, 54 standing, and two wheelchair spaces, with a gross vehicle weight rating of 19 tonnes.

Safety features include a 360-degree camera system, collision warning systems for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists, as well as lane departure and driver distraction alerts. The company has established its APAC headquarters in Singapore to manage operations across Australia, New Zealand, and the ASEAN region.

JBM EV currently operates in 27 global markets. To date, the company has sold over 4,000 electric buses. These vehicles have collectively covered more than 500 million kilometres and transported over 1.5 billion passengers.
