Impulse Space has secured an additional $308 million as an extension to its Series D funding round, bringing the total raised in this round to $808 million. The company valuation has reportedly reached $5.4 billion, up from $4.26 billion in June.

The funding round saw participation from existing investors, including 137 Ventures, BANNER VC, DFJ Growth, Linse Capital, Lux Capital, and Valor Equity Partners. The capital is earmarked for manufacturing expansion and hiring efforts to support the production of Mira and Helios vehicles.

The company has already sold out its Caravan 2 and 3 Helios rideshare missions scheduled for 2028. To support its growth, Impulse Space has appointed Adam Townsend, formerly of VIZIO, as its first Chief Financial Officer.

The space sector has seen significant activity recently with other major funding announcements. Stoke Space Technologies closed a $1 billion tranche of a Series E round, while Bulgarian satellite manufacturer EnduroSat raised $205 million to expand production and establish a US facility.
