Developers can integrate IoT devices with the Tuya ecosystem to enable push notifications without creating custom mobile applications. The TuyaOpen SDK, built on ESP-IDF, allows ESP32-based hardware to connect to the Tuya cloud and pair with the Smart Life app via Bluetooth.
To implement this, developers must register a product on the Tuya platform, obtain a license, and flash the device with firmware using the TuyaOpen SDK. The platform provides two free device licenses, while additional units require payment. Account verification for production access typically requires a corporate account linked to a bank account.
The system operates by reporting data point values from the device to the cloud. The cloud then triggers push notifications based on predefined rules configured in the platform's dashboard. Developers can choose between message center logs or full push notifications that appear on the user's phone screen.
