Hyundai is currently testing a prototype of the fifth-generation Porter truck in Europe. The new model marks a significant shift for the series, which has been in production since 1977 and has remained largely unchanged since 2004.
The upcoming Porter will be the first in the lineup to offer an electric powertrain. Reports suggest the vehicle may utilize the E-GMP.S architecture, a modified version of the Hyundai Group's E-GMP platform that supports a 400-volt system.
Technical observations from the prototype indicate the inclusion of a four-wheel drive system. The design features a boxier aesthetic with a longer nose to meet safety standards, a flat windshield, and upright side windows.
While the truck is being tested in Europe, its final market availability remains unconfirmed. It may be sold alongside a gasoline-powered variant, potentially targeting regions like South Korea, Chile, Peru, Brazil, and parts of Africa and Asia.
