Hyundai has delivered 11 electric buses to Bali, Indonesia, marking the island's first deployment of e-buses for public transport. The project is part of the Bali Sustainable Transportation System Official Development Assistance initiative, managed by the Global Green Growth Institute in partnership with the South Korean Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment and the Indonesian government.

The fleet consists of eight-metre County EV mid-size models, produced in collaboration with the Indonesian manufacturer Laksana. Each bus is equipped with a 150 kW motor and a 128 kWh battery, providing a range exceeding 200 kilometres. The vehicle features 20 seats and demonstrates over 30 per cent faster acceleration in the 50 to 80 km/h range compared to diesel equivalents.

Hyundai secured the contract following a tender process initiated by the Global Green Growth Institute in October 2025. The company has also committed to establishing a local monitoring centre to track vehicle performance and quality. This deployment follows a similar delivery of 11 County EV buses to Surabaya in November 2024.

The manufacturer aims to strengthen its position within the Indonesian electric bus market. Hyundai plans to further expand its operations in Bali, Surabaya, and Jakarta, leveraging its experience to grow its electrified commercial vehicle business across key regional markets.
