Huawei is preparing to launch a new generation of its MatePad Mini tablet. According to recent reports, the upcoming device will feature a dual-layer OLED display and support 5G connectivity. These hardware upgrades are expected to improve the overall battery life of the tablet compared to previous iterations.

Leaked information suggests the new model will incorporate a narrow-bezel design and be powered by a flagship-grade processor from the 9-series. Early engineering prototypes indicate that the manufacturer has increased the battery capacity. Additionally, the company is evaluating the inclusion of NFC technology for the new device.

The current MatePad Mini, released in September 2026, features an 8.8-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2560 by 1600 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1800 nits. The existing model also includes features such as two-way satellite messaging, Lingxi communication technology, and support for the M-Pencil Pro stylus.
