Huawei's Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Guo Ping, stated that the company aims to become the 'Nvidia' of the ICT and computing sectors. He emphasized that Huawei focuses on supporting customers in building high-performance large models rather than solely relying on its own proprietary AI models.
Regarding the smartphone and automotive businesses, Huawei intends to develop proprietary large models to maintain competitiveness. Guo noted that while Huawei faces constraints in advanced semiconductor manufacturing, it is prioritizing design and manufacturing integration to overcome these limitations.
Guo Ping addressed the future of the 'Yinwang' automotive unit, confirming that Huawei will continue to lead its development for the foreseeable future. He reiterated that Huawei remains committed to its 'no-car-making' strategy, focusing instead on providing intelligent automotive components globally.
The company's core strategy remains focused on 'connectivity' and 'computing.' Guo dismissed rumors of business expansion, stating that Huawei aims to deepen its expertise in these fields to provide digital infrastructure and AI solutions without venturing into unrelated areas like space exploration.
Guo highlighted that Huawei's supply chain management is modeled after Apple's practices, emphasizing resilience and efficiency. He stressed that Huawei does not set specific targets to surpass competitors, but rather focuses on product competitiveness, which naturally leads to market success.
