Huawei has introduced a disc burning feature for its MatePad Pro 12-inch, MatePad Pro Max, and MatePad Edge tablets. Users can access this functionality after updating their devices to specific versions of the HarmonyOS 7.0 operating system.
For the MatePad Pro 12-inch and MatePad Pro Max models, the system must be updated to at least version HarmonyOS 7.0.0.111SP12. The MatePad Edge requires a minimum of version HarmonyOS 7.0.0.111SP8 to enable the new feature.
The feature allows users to archive photos, documents, and videos onto external optical discs via a USB-connected drive. The system supports both initial burning for blank discs and incremental burning for discs that have not yet been finalized.
The software supports various disc formats, including CD-R, DVD-R, DVD+R, and BD-R for one-time writing, as well as rewritable formats like CD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD-RW. Currently, the system does not support erasing BD-RE discs.
