Gudea, a startup founded in 2023, uses artificial intelligence to help organizations identify and prevent online reputation crises. The company monitors over 500 websites and platforms, including X, Reddit, and TikTok, to analyze how information spreads and who drives specific narratives.
Unlike traditional social listening tools that focus on metrics like mentions and impressions, Gudea examines behavioral patterns and information pathways. The platform aims to provide context for rising online activity, helping decision-makers determine whether a response is necessary.
The company currently serves nearly 40 clients, including a Fortune 50 telecommunications firm, a major retailer, a large AI lab, and various government agencies. Founders Keith Presley, Jonathan Sperber, and James Thomin established the business after working on the George Washington Initiative.
Gudea recently secured $7 million in a seed funding round co-led by Mudita Venture Partners and Silicon Road Ventures. This investment brings the company's total funding to approximately $15 million.
Looking ahead, the startup plans to introduce geolocation technology for narratives by next year, which will allow users to track conversations with city-block precision. The team also intends to offer tools for testing advertising campaigns against its AI model before launch.
