Geely is preparing to launch the updated EX5 electric SUV in China on September 21, 2026. The new model features a redesigned structure, including a rear-wheel-drive layout and a relocated charging port. The vehicle is equipped with a single TZ184QY301 electric motor on the rear axle, delivering a peak power of 245 kW, which is 114 hp more than the previous version.

The updated crossover includes a spacious front trunk with a maximum load capacity of 50 kg. The vehicle measures 4636 mm in length, 1920 mm in width, and 1670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2750 mm. These dimensions make the new model 21 mm longer than its predecessor. The top speed has increased to 201 km/h, up from 175 km/h.

The EX5 features a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, enabling the G-ASD G-Pilot H5 assisted driving system for urban and highway navigation. Additional exterior updates include new bumpers, semi-hidden door handles, and integrated cameras on the front fenders and roof spoiler. The system is powered by an LFP battery, though its capacity remains undisclosed.

According to China EV DataTracker, Geely delivered 40,776 units of the EX5 between January and August 2026, representing a 45.9% decline compared to the previous year. Shan Aifu, head of PR for Geely Galaxy, stated that the model has undergone a comprehensive overhaul of its internal components and electronic systems to support its market position.
