Forus, an AI-driven network for medication authorization and prescription access, has secured $150 million in a Series C funding round. The investment was led by Bain Capital Ventures, with participation from all existing institutional investors. This round triples the company's valuation to $3 billion, just four months after its $1 billion Series B announcement in May.

The company provides a free platform for doctors and patients that automates the prior authorization process. Each prescription is assigned an AI agent that functions as a case manager, handling insurance approvals, financial assistance, and supply chain coordination. The system integrates directly into existing provider workflows to reduce administrative burdens.

Forus currently supports millions of users across all 50 U.S. states and is utilized by providers in 85% of U.S. residential ZIP codes. The platform's data network is used by nine of the top 15 global biopharma companies to monitor access barriers and optimize the launch of new therapies. The company plans to expand its presence to every doctor's office in the country.

The platform focuses on complex and high-cost medicines, including biologics and specialty drugs. By consolidating the multi-step prescription process into a single system, Forus aims to accelerate the path from clinical decision to treatment. The company intends to use the new capital to scale its team and enhance its AI models to support a broader range of conditions and payers.
