Former Microsoft executive Mikhail Parakhin has publicly criticized the taskbar experience in the Windows 11 26H2 update. Parakhin, who previously led the Windows and Bing divisions, described the current state of the taskbar as unusable.
The primary issues identified by Parakhin involve the left-aligned taskbar functionality. Specifically, the automatic hiding feature fails to operate as expected, and users are currently unable to adjust the size of the taskbar.
Parakhin addressed his concerns directly to Pavan Davuluri, the current head of Windows at Microsoft, urging the company to address these functional limitations. As of the latest report, Davuluri has not provided a public response to the feedback.
Parakhin served at Microsoft from 2007 to 2014 and returned to the company from 2019 to 2024, eventually leading the advertising and web services business. He transitioned to the role of Chief Technology Officer at Shopify in August 2024.
