Flox Intelligence develops edge AI devices designed to deter wildlife from critical infrastructure, including railways, airports, and roads. The system uses motion sensors and cameras to identify specific animal species and emits adaptive, species-appropriate sounds to prevent habituation.

The company, which spun out of the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2020, currently has approximately 150 devices deployed across North America, Europe, and Australia. Its clients include airports, national parks, mining sites, and agricultural operations.

Flox operates on a business model involving upfront hardware sales followed by annual software and AI subscription fees. It also maintains OEM partnerships, including a collaboration with train manufacturer Alstom to integrate its software onto vehicles.

The startup expects to reach approximately $1.5 million in revenue by the end of 2026. To date, Flox has raised $5 million in pre-seed and seed funding from investors including Unconventional Ventures and Tilia Impact Ventures.

Flox is currently seeking $10 million in Series A funding. The capital is intended to scale operations from 150 to several thousand deployed units and to expand the system's capabilities beyond current wildlife deterrence use cases.
