The first serial MC-21-310 aircraft, bearing serial number 0014, has returned to the Irkutsk Aviation Plant airfield from Zhukovsky. The aircraft previously underwent detailed inspections to verify its compliance with performance requirements and specifications.
At the Irkutsk facility, the aircraft will be fitted with a passenger cabin. Engineers will also perform additional modifications if the results of the certification flight tests indicate such a need.
The ferry flight was conducted by a mixed crew from the Yakovlev company, led by senior test pilot Sergey Mikhailyuk. The team included test pilots and lead engineers from both the Engineering Center and the aviation plant.
The MC-21-310 is designed to carry 163 passengers in a standard two-class configuration, with 16 seats in business class and 147 in economy. The aircraft has a maximum capacity of 211 passengers.
The jet features a length of 42.25 meters and a wingspan of 35.9 meters. Its maximum takeoff weight is 85 tons, with a commercial payload capacity of 21.3 tons. The aircraft reaches a maximum cruise speed of 0.82 Mach.
The model offers a flight range of up to 3,830 kilometers when configured for 175 passengers. The MC-21-310 is positioned as a domestic alternative to the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 narrow-body jets.
