Developer Daniel Blanco has released the Alpha 0.8.0 version of the DLSS-NR project, which enables NVIDIA DLSS features on AMD Radeon graphics cards. The update, published on October 17, provides support for DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, and Frame Generation with up to 4x multi-frame generation.

The project utilizes custom HIP kernels to reimplement DLSS runtimes instead of relying on a translation layer. Users are required to provide their own NVIDIA DLL files to enable the functionality. The package also includes FSR 4.1.1 and a new NeuralHub manager for game detection and installation.

Full feature support is available for RDNA 3 and RDNA 4 architectures, while RDNA 2 support remains experimental and restricted to Neural Rendering. On an RX 9070 XT, the developer reports performance of 90 to 100 FPS at 1080p using DLSS 5 Neural Rendering, aiming to reach parity with the RTX 5070 Ti.

Performance results for Ray Reconstruction vary significantly. While some users report no frame rate loss in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p, others have observed performance drops of up to 25%. The mod is currently compatible only with DirectX 12 titles on Windows 11 and is incompatible with games featuring anti-cheat software.
