Modders have successfully extracted the new DLSS NR build, version 310.9.16.0, allowing its use in games not officially supported by Nvidia. Testing in The Witcher 3 showed performance gains of up to 90% compared to the previous iteration of the model.
Nvidia optimized the new AI model to be 24% smaller, which results in 20% lower VRAM consumption at 4K resolution. The company claims that the updated neural rendering workload processes data up to 2x faster than the older version.
The latest DLL file includes two presets: Preset A represents the older model, while Preset B is the new version. Modders are currently using tools like RenoDX and OptiScaler to inject DLSS into the graphics pipeline.
While Nvidia currently intends to release DLSS 5 exclusively for RTX 40-series GPUs, the modding community has already adapted the runtime to enable support for older RTX 20-series hardware.
