The DLSS-NR project, developed by Daniel Blanco, has released version 0.8.0, enabling full DLSS core functionality on AMD Radeon graphics cards. This update introduces support for DLSS Super Resolution, Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and the latest neural rendering models, which were previously unavailable on the AMD platform.
The mod is compatible with RX 9000, 7000, and 6000 series cards, covering RDNA4, RDNA3, and RDNA2 architectures. It functions across all DirectX 12 titles that support FSR, DLSS, or XeSS. Users manage the integration via the NeuralHub loader, which provides an automated deployment interface and an in-game overlay for real-time parameter adjustments.
Technical enhancements include a built-in FSR 4.1.1 module, allowing for a standardized implementation of upscaling regardless of the game's native version. According to the developer, the mod's output quality closely approximates native DLSS performance, though some visual effects remain partially unsupported. Testing on an RX 9070 XT at 1080p showed stable performance between 90 and 100 FPS.
User feedback on Reddit indicates varied experiences, with some reporting no performance loss compared to native FSR, while others noted frame rate drops of up to 25% in certain titles. The developer continues daily optimizations with the goal of matching the performance levels of the 5070Ti. Note that the mod is incompatible with games featuring anti-cheat systems.
