UK-based AI startup Emulate is currently in negotiations to secure $700 million in a seed funding round. The company, founded in August 2026 by former Google DeepMind researchers Jack Parker-Holder, Matthew McGill, and Philip Ball, is targeting a pre-money valuation of approximately $3 billion. If successful, the post-money valuation will reach $3.7 billion.
The startup focuses on developing AI systems capable of simulating and predicting physical-world dynamics. This technology builds upon the founders' previous experience with the Genie project at DeepMind, which specialized in generating realistic video content and interactive 3D environments. The company has not yet released a commercial product.
Index Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners are reportedly leading the investment discussions. This deal follows a trend of significant funding for DeepMind spin-offs in 2026. Earlier this year, Ineffable Intelligence raised $1.1 billion, while Recursive Superintelligence secured over $600 million in their respective seed rounds.
