SpaceX and the European budget airline easyJet have announced a partnership to integrate Starlink satellite internet services into the carrier's aircraft fleet. The system utilizes a low Earth orbit satellite constellation to provide passengers with high-speed, low-latency connectivity, enabling activities such as streaming and remote work during flights.
This initiative follows similar developments in the aviation sector. Vietjet previously entered an agreement in May 2026 to equip 120 of its aircraft with Starlink technology. Meanwhile, the Israeli airline EL AL plans to begin a phased rollout of the service in 2027, aiming to provide consistent coverage even over oceanic routes.
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) also began deploying Starlink across its fleet in late 2025, allowing passengers to connect multiple devices simultaneously. As part of its own fleet expansion, easyJet has placed a firm order for 157 Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft, which will likely be integrated into the company's broader connectivity strategy.
